![]() ![]() Bloodmoney was the best and it had both 1st person and 3rd person (as did Silent Assassin and Contracts). Never cared about Absolution, because it was crap. I've been playing hitman since the original and I've finished every level on SA. But you're really just trying desperately to make something out of nothing, acting all important. Originally posted by Wyatt Derp:You're talking out of your ass, making a huge bubble from almost nothing, as if you'd know what you're talking about, as if a camera position 1 meter behind your character would make all the difference between gameplay styles. I'm talking about game design while you're talking about camera position Simply being able to walk around in VR would not make up for the loss of situational awareness, the added stealth of cover or the quick moves between cover points just to name even a fraction of the core game mechanics that would need to be reworked to actually feel good or function properly in first person Yes you could just shove the camera into first person, but you'd lose entire portions of the intended movement and stealth design The more you talk the more clear it is you don't actually know how to play this game I'm not talking about how easy it would be to alter the camera position, I'm talking about the actual game design being built around 3rd person movement concepts to be able to do the majority of the stealth based tactics the game is intended to use Really.Īnd you don't grasp timing and level design that are built around you being able to see around the character on both sides and behind at the same time, or the dash mechanic where you jump from one set of cover to the next without being spotted if you were connected to the cover or the timing sequences of how to hide in certain areas where you will be seen if you aren't attached to the cover points It's NOT anywhere close to creating a whole new game. ![]() You basically just hide the player mesh and let it animate invisibly and still fire events, attach the camera to the top of your player capsule and that's it. I don't know where you get your vast technical expertise from, but I have been game programming in c++ on a hobbyist level almost all my life, using UE4 in the last years, and it's nothing like that. You've compared it to payday without comprehending payday required only a change to the controls for it to work in VR where as Hitman would require it's entire movement and stealth system to be rebuilt from the ground up (and if you don't know why, you really don't know how to play the game well) No, dude. If they want to do VR I wouldn't protest at all, I'm just beyond aware of what a massive undertaking it would be. ![]() You've compared it to payday without comprehending payday required only a change to the controls for it to work in VR where as Hitman would require it's entire movement and stealth system to be rebuilt from the ground up (and if you don't know why, you really don't know how to play the game well) The simple fact that you do not realize how integral the cover system is means you don't actually know how to play the game at a technical level It could be adapted, but it would be about as much work as a designing an entirely new game. ![]() For a game to function in VR it needs to be designed for first person to begin with currently not a single system in this game is designed to work around first person I'm not fighting it, but you simply don't grasp how this game is currently designed or functions if you believe this is a simple change.
